The Linux Foundation, a nonprofit focused on fostering innovation through open source, has formed the Open Metaverse Foundation (OMF). OMF’s mission will be to provide a collaboration space for diverse industries to develop open source standards and software for a global, inclusive, vendor-neutral, and scalable Metaverse.

Apache Software Foundation (ASF), an incubator of over 350 open source projects and initiatives, has announced that Apache® Kyuubi has graduated to become a Top-Level Project (TLP). Kyuubi is a distributed and multi-tenant gateway that provides serverless SQL on data warehouses and lakehouses.

Legit Security has discovered an easy-to-exploit DoS vulnerability in markdown libraries used by GitHub, GitLab, and other applications, using a popular markdown rendering service called commonmarker. GitHub has formally acknowledged the vulnerability and posted a fix.
